Using the website

Shopping on the site

As you browse the website you can add items to your basket throughout the pages.  When you add an item to your basket you will see it in the inline basket on the right hand side and also next to the basket item in the top right corner of the page.  To view your basket or make changes to it at any time you can click on the basket item or use any of the links within the pages.

Searching

To search for books, software or downloads, you can enter the name or title of the resource or use author name, or any other important term (for example, assessment for learning).  If you have the unique book number (ISBN) you can also use this.  Type into the search bar and click Go or enter.

The search will automatically display results for books or software that you can buy.  However, if you are looking for free downloads, simply click on the ‘Free downloads’ tab to see search results for downloads.

Search tips

• The search cannot look for part or 10 digit ISBNs so if you are searching by ISBN please type in the whole 13 digit number.  If you have a 10 digit ISBN please try searching by book title, series name or author.
• Typing in just the key words rather than whole sentences returns better results so try removing small words like 'of' and 'the'
• To get more results try removing one of your search terms, so if you don't get anything for maths teacher guide try maths teacher
• To narrow your search and get more relevant results try adding words, so if the results for GCSE science don't seem relevant enough, try GCSE science AQA
• If you are looking for downloads try including the name of the book of software that the download goes with to narrow the search, so instead of answers try GCSE AQA answers
• Once you have results for downloads you can use the filters to narrow down by the type of download (lesson plans, answers etc) so it might be better to search for the book title first and then filter the results by the type once you have these

Browsing for books and software

Our site is organised into Primary and Secondary sectors and then into subjects within those.  You can choose the subject straight from the home page or go to the Primary or Secondary page and choose it there in the left hand menu.

Once in your chosen subject you can use the left hand menus to narrow down by Key Stage/Level or by Age, so for example you can see all of the Secondary books we do for Maths for KS4.  This will then be displayed in a list on the right.

Browsing for free downloads

Our free downloads are also organised into Primary and Secondary sectors, and then by subject and series.  You can narrow down which downloads you can see again by using the menus on the left of the page once you have selected a subject area.

You can then choose to see different types of downloads, so for example if you just want to see ‘Answers’ you can filter by ‘Answers’ at the top of the page.
